The celebrated children's book about a mischievous boy who winds up in a monster-filled forest comes magically to life in this masterful Spike Jonze film. Sent to bed without any supper due to his rambunctious behavior, young Max (Max Records) runs off wearing only a wolf costume. A sailboat steers him on a course for the island of Wild Things where it soon becomes rumpus-time for the monsters and their self-appointed king, Max. Catherine Keener and Mark Ruffalo co-star. Also with Lauren Ambrose, Chris Cooper, James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara and Forest Whitaker. Directed by Spike Jonze; screenplay by Spike Jonze & Dave Eggers, based on the book by Maurice Sendak.
