Montgomery is a quick-drawing sheriff who's asked to resign from his post. The townspeople want a quieter town, and the only gun that is blazing is the sheriff's. Montgomery goes to the town of Sundown where he and Civil War buddy Peters join forces to clean up the town. With justice served, Montgomery hooks up with Stuart, a dance hall hostess, and Peters with Cummings.
