When the services of New Orleans call girl Gilda Karlson are requested by a man whose wife is out of town, she discovers that the man Piet Van Saal, whose unwelcome advances had led her into prostitution. Trying to leave, she struggles with him, hits him over the head with a vase. The next morning Karlson learns that the Van Saal's building burned – and that she is wanted for his murder!
