Following the heinous murder of a left-wing talk-show host, an FBI agent (Debra Winger) is assigned to infiltrate a white supremacist group in America's heartland. There she meets and is wooed by a farmer and widowed father of two (Tom Berenger). His earnest, forthright appeal seems too good to be true, and it is – for he leads a chilling double life as a murderous racist.
